SYRACUSE METS
The Syracuse Mets defeated Lehigh Valley, 5–3.
David Thompson went deep in the third inning for his third home run of the year, he also walked twice. Catcher Nick Meyer reached base safely three times with a hit, two walks and two RBI. Sebastian Elizalde and Mason Williams also tallied hits for Syracuse.
Jared Eickhoff earned the win, tossing six innings and allowing three runs while striking out seven. Stephen Nogosek was lights out coming out of the pen, recording the three inning save while not allowing any runs and fanning five batters.
The Syracuse Mets will get set to take on Lehigh Valley again tonight at 6:35 p.m.
BINGHAMTON RUMBLEPONIES
Binghamton was defeated by Erie yesterday, 11–1.
Mets #8 prospect Mark Vientos (MLB Pipeline) recorded a multi-hit game while Carlos Cortes (Mets #19 prospect) reached base twice with a hit and a walk. Yoel Romero stayed hot, collecting a hit, RBI and base on balls.
Binghamton sends right-hander Luc Rennie to the mound as the series with Erie continues. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
BROOKLYN CYCLONES
The Brooklyn Cyclones saw a loss to Hudson Valley last night, 6–1.
Catcher Hayden Senger tripled and scored a run while Antoine Duplantis reached base safely twice. Blake Tiberi and Ronny Mauricio (Mets #2 prospect — MLB Pipeline) would also record a hit each for Brooklyn.
Jaison Vilera made the start for Brooklyn, allowing two earned runs over five innings of work. Josh Hejka tossed three perfect innings in relief.
Josh Walker and his 3.00 season ERA will get the nod for Brooklyn tonight. First pitch against Hudson Valley is slated for 7:00 p.m.
ST. LUCIE METS
The St. Lucie Mets collected ten team base hits to take the win over Palm Beach, 6–0.
Zach Ashford went 3-for-5 for the Mets with a double and two RBI. Mets #1 prospect Francisco Álvarez (MLB Pipeline) would tally two hits, a walk, a run scored and RBI — raising his season OPS to 1.229. Shervyen Newton (Mets #15 prospect — MLB Pipeline) also recorded a multi-hit game with a double and run scored.
Jacob deGrom got the start for St. Lucie, making his first rehab appearance on the mound. deGrom tossed four innings, allowing zero runs and striking out eight batters. Justin Lasko tossed two scoreless innings in relief before Brendan Hardy pitched a scoreless inning to wrap up St. Lucie’s shutout victory.
St. Lucie squares off against Palm Beach again tonight at 6:30 p.m. Joander Suarez will toe the rubber for the Mets.
