Farm Report Recap: 6/23
SYRACUSE METS
The Syracuse Mets fell to Buffalo, 4–3.
Travis Blankenhorn reached base safely three times to go along with a run scored and RBI. Brandon Nimmo continued his rehab assignment with Syracuse, walking and scoring a run while hitting leadoff and playing centerfield. Matt Winaker made his Triple-A debut with Syracuse last night, recording a double, walk and run scored.
Dellin Betances also continued to rehab, tossing a scoreless inning in relief.
Syracuse will host Buffalo to a doubleheader today with the first game beginning at 5:05 p.m. Game two (a makeup from 6/22) will begin following the completion of game one.
BINGHAMTON RUMBLEPONIES
The RumblePonies were defeated by Reading, 8–6.
Jake Mangum (Mets #30 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline) tallied three hits for Binghamton, including a solo home run in the first inning. Mark Vientos (Mets #8 ranked prospect) also went deep for Binghamton, driving in two and scoring twice. Wagner Lagrange also recorded a three-hit game.
Binghamton continues their series with Reading tonight as first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
BROOKLYN CYCLONES
The Brooklyn Cyclones saw a 3–2 walk-off win over Jersey Shore.
Antoine Duplantis hit a triple and drove in a run while Brett Baty (Mets #4 prospect — MLB Pipeline) doubled and scored a run. Luke Ritter reached base safely three times in the contest. Joe Genord also recorded an RBI each in the win. LT Struble had a multi-hit game and stole a base. Jose Mena played hero with a walk-off single in the 10th inning.
Alec Kisena made the start for Brooklyn, throwing 5.1 shutout innings while fanning six.
Brooklyn hosts Jersey Shore again tonight at 6:30 p.m.
ST. LUCIE METS
The St. Lucie Mets were scheduled to play a doubleheader against Dunedin yesterday.
Game one was suspended in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 10–10 score and game two was postponed due to weather.
Matt Dyer hit a solo home run in the second inning while Jose Peroza provided a second inning grand slam to give St. Lucie the early lead. Alex Ramirez (Mets #9 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline) tallied a multi-hit game and scored a run. Joe Suozzi has a double, two runs scored and two RBI. Branden Fryman and Warren Saunders also have multi-hit games for St. Lucie.
The continuation of game one will begin today as St. Lucie regularly scheduled game will begin at 6:10 p.m. or following the completion of yesterday’s suspended game.
