Farm Report Recap: 6/26
SYRACUSE METS
The Syracuse Mets fell to Buffalo in extra innings, 5–3.
Brandon Nimmo continues to rehab with Syracuse, reaching base safely twice with a hit and a walk. He played centerfield and hit leadoff. Nimmo is expected to rejoin the Mets within the upcoming week. Khalil Lee recorded a multi-hit game while Brandon Drury, Drew Jackson and César Puello recorded an RBI each in the contest.
Robert Stock made his Syracuse Mets debut since being claimed off of waivers last week, tossing six innings and allowing two earned runs.
The Syracuse Mets wrap up their series with Buffalo today at 1:05 p.m.
BINGHAMTON RUMBLEPONIES
The Binghamton RumblePonies collected 14 team hitsin a 13–6 win over Reading.
Jake Mangum (Mets #30 ranked prospect — MLB pipeline) went 3-for-6 with with a homer, three RBI and three runs scored. Carlos Cortes (Mets #17 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline) also had a monster day at the plate, tallying three hits, including two doubles and four RBI. Toel Romero also homered in the win — a solo shot in the fourth inning. Wagner Lagrange and Manny Rodriguez each collected multiple hits on the night for Binghamton.
Oscar de la Cruz made the start for Binghamton, going four innings and allowing two runs. Andrew Mitchell tossed two scoreless innings in relief, recording three punchouts.
Binghamton will play their series finale in Reading today at 5:15 p.m. Right-hander Luc Rennie is expected to start for the RumblePonies.
BROOKLYN CYCLONES
The Brooklyn Cyclones scored four runs in the eighth inning to complete a comeback win over Jersey Shore, 8–5.
Brett Baty (Mets #4 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline) and Francisco Álvarez (Mets #1 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline) hit back-to-back homers in the eighth inning to provide some late inning magic. Joe Genord recorded a multi-hit game, including a double and two RBI. Cody Bohanek reached base safely twice, scoring two runs and driving one in.
Connor Grey made his Brooklyn debut on the mound, allowing two earned runs over five innings of work and recording six strikeouts.
Brooklyn will host Jersey Shore today to conclude the series at 4:00 p.m. Justin Lasko gets the nod for the Cyclones.
ST. LUCIE METS
The St. Lucie Mets fell to Dunedin, 7–5.
Brandon McIlwain launched a two run homer for the Mets in the first inning to provide an early lead as part of a multi-hit game. Jose Peroza reached base safely three times with two hits and a walk. Warren Saunders and Joe Suozzi would also record two hits on the night each.
J.T. Ginn (Mets #6 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline) made the start for St. Lucie, allowing three earned runs over five innings while striking out five.
St. Lucie hosts Dunedin today at 12:10 p.m. in the series finale. David Griffin is expected to start for St. Lucie, making his Low-A Southeast debut.
