SYRACUSE METS
The Syracuse Mets fell to Worcester yesterday, 11–4.
Cheslor Cuthbert recorded a multi-hit game including a two-run homer. Khalil Lee (Mets #7 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline) reached base safely twice while Patrick Mazeika recorded a hit, RBI and run scored. Albert Almora Jr. and Luis Guillorme both appeared in the game for Syracuse as part of their rehab assignments.
Stephen Nogosek lowered his season ERA to 1.20 after tossing 1.1 scoreless innings in relief.
Syracuse will take on Worcester again today at 12:00 p.m.
BINGHAMTON RUMBLEPONIES
The Binghamton RumblePonies saw a 12–0 loss to Bowie.
Carlos Cortes (Mets #17 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline) doubled while Quinn Brodey and Luis Carpio each recorded a base hit for Binghamton.
Binghamton prepares to host Bowie again tonight at 6:35 p.m. Right-hander Josh Walker will get the nod for the RumblePonies, making his third start since joining the team.
BROOKLYN CYCLONES
The Brooklyn Cyclones’ matchup with Hudson Valley was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up today (June 9) as part of a doubleheader with Hudson Valley.
Brooklyn will send Justin Lasko to the mound in a 5:00 p.m. start for game one. Game two will begin following the completion of game one. Cam Opp will toe the rubber for the Cyclones in game two.
ST. LUCIE METS
The St. Lucie Mets collected 17 team hits and stole six bases in a 12–6 win over Palm Beach.
Warren Saunders went 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Jaylen Palmer (Mets #12 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline) recorded two hits including a double and scored three times. Alex Ramirez (Mets #9 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline), Joe Suozzi and Branden Fryman each recorded multi-hit games in the win.
Luis Montas got the win for St. Lucie, tossing 1.2 shutout innings in relief. He has yet to give up an earned run in 6.2 innings of work on the season. Willy Taveras was credited with the save after pitching two scoreless innings to end the game.
J.T. Ginn (Mets #6 ranked prospect — MLB Pipeline) will make his second pro start with St. Lucie as they take on Palm Beach again today at 12:10 p.m.
