Justin Minaya Wins Big East Player of the Week

By Jay Horwitz

Wanted to say congrats to one of our own today.

Justin Minaya, son of Omar, was just named the Big East Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Justin, a 6–6 forward at Providence and one of the top defensive players in the Conference, led the Friars to two key victory over ranked opponents last week, Xavier and Marquette.

Justin didn’t take a minute off in those two games. The Friars are 18–2 overall and 8–1 in the Big East. Hopefully, an NCAA tournament bid is on the horizon for the Minaya family.
