Let’s Go Mets!

I cleaned out my draw and discovered I was part of Mets history, 17 years before I started working for the club.

I came across a ticket stub from the May 4, 1963, San Francisco Giants vs. New York Mets game at the Polo Grounds. San Francisco won the game 17–4.

According to the Mets Virtual Vault (https://www.metsheritage.com/), with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, the fans started the “Let’s Go METS” chant for the first time.

I probably didn’t join in because I was a huge Giants fan at the time.
