Mets Alumni Zoom Program Reaches Milestone

By Jay Horwitz

I am proud that our alumni zoom program has impacted close to 500 seniors at 30 different assisted living facilities since the start of the pandemic.

Steve Trachsel will become the 33rd different alumnus to participate in the hour-long program when he speaks to a group of folks next week.

These seniors, who are dressed in Mets t-shirts and hats, have had very little outset contact with the world since covid hit.

“I had a great time doing my call,” said Dwight Gooden. “So many of these people cheered for me when I pitched. I was glad to be able to do something nice for them. They came up with great questions I can tell you that. They were gigantic Mets fans.”
