METS CLAIM RHP ROEL RAMĺREZ

FLUSHING, N.Y., July 21, 2021 — The New York Mets today announced the team has claimed RHP Roel Ramírez off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals. Ramirez will be optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.
Ramírez, 26, has appeared in one game this year and in one game in 2020 with St. Louis.
The Laredo, TX native has pitched in 20 games with Triple-A Memphis this season, going 0–1 with one save and a 4.34 ERA (14 earned runs/29.0 innings), eight walks and 32 strikeouts.
Ramírez is 32–25 with a 4.05 ERA (221 earned runs/491.1 innings) in 197 career minor league games, 50 starts.
The 6–0, 235-pounder was selected by Tampa Bay in the eighth-round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft.
