Mets Draft Kumar Rocker

The Mets and Kumar Rocker is a marriage made in heaven. So says ex-Met and Queens, NY native Mike Baxter, now the head recruiter for Vanderbilt University baseball.

“Kumar has the mentality and the toughness to succeed in this market,” said Baxter. “He competes every second he is on the mound and never takes a pitch off. Mets fans will love him.”

Mike is naturally proud that another of the Vandy Boys. Jack Leiter, son of former Met Al Leiter, was the second overall pick in the draft by the Texas Rangers.

“I can’t wait for the day when Kumar and Jack are pitching in the majors,” Mike went on. “I don’t think that day is too far off either.”
