It’s not just the players and coaches that have dreamed of making it to the big leagues. Many of our front office staff shared the same dream and contributes to the team’s overall success.

In honor of Women’s History Month, each week, we will take a closer look at the career paths of Mets employees as they achieved their goal of working in professional sports.

Kayla Rice — Assistant Team Photographer

I played some t-ball and softball growing up, but the more impactful memories I have are from being a Red Sox fan with my dad. He was a more loyal fan at the time, but his passion definitely rubbed off on me and made baseball really special in my childhood memories. I always picked number 5 or 7 for my “jersey” on my softball teams to match my favorite players (Nomar Garciaparra and Trot Nixon) and I went to as many games at Fenway as I could with my dad. This first photo is from a game at Fenway sometime around 2001. The more current photo is from my first year as Assistant Team Photographer for the Mets in 2015. My dad visited when the Red Sox were in town and got to take photos with me in the well right next to their dugout. It was a really awesome day for both of us and I was so happy that I got to give my dad that experience. — Kayla Rice

Claire Dalton — Marketing Assistant

This photo was taken during one of my elementary school volleyball seasons. My mom was the coach of my team and she was the one who got me into sports. As a physical education teacher, she was always keeping my family active and watching sports with me. Watching all of the games with my mom and family cemented my love of sports and created a bonding experience. As I grew up, I realized I wanted to go into sports to give other families the same experiences I had with my family. Now, I work in marketing for the Mets where I get to help fans create lifelong memories. — Claire Dalton

Jamie Logan — Senior Account Executive

This is a photo from the first tee-ball team I was a part of, the Firebirds. I have two older sisters that initially got me interested in sports, and come from a sports-obsessed family, so it was inevitable for me to get involved. It was on this team that I remember really falling in love with baseball, and the camaraderie that came along with it. I eventually moved on to softball which became a huge part of my life during my childhood and adolescence, and really helped to shape the mentality I have today. This couldn’t have happened without my parents, who carted me across the state, took me to the batting cages, and ran drills with me in my backyard, among countless other things. I am eternally grateful for their support, and although I’ll never be able to fully repay them, seeing my Dad light up like a Christmas tree when he tells someone that I work for the Mets is an absolutely incredible feeling. In my current role as a Senior Account Executive with Mets Events, I pull a lot from the principles instilled in me in my earlier days, and aim to create unique and impactful experiences for everyone that steps foot in the ballpark. — Jamie Logan

Michelle Rachek — Manager of Ticket Services

I grew up playing sports like soccer, basketball, softball and ran track but I had a real passion to be a dancer. This photo is from my 1999 Pointe class. I started dancing when I was 3 and went on to compete with my team and best friends into my 20’s. My parents were at every recital and competition cheering us on. I had the opportunity to compete in solos, duos, trios & small/large groups. One dance I will never forget was having the opportunity to compete a duo with my younger sister and watching my parents and others cry watching our performance. Even though my number one passion was dance, I was a true sports fan due to my dad and brother. My Dad was my coach for every team I was on outside of school teams. When I was hired by the Mets it was a dream come true! Today I am the Manager of Ticket Services and have loved every single minute of my 6 years here. I am truly grateful to be here and contribute to the success of the organization.- Michelle Rachek

Kasey Blair — Assistant General Manager, Mets Spring Training facility & St. Lucie Mets

I grew up playing sports, but baseball has always been my first and biggest love. My dad took my brother and I to games in Cincinnati and Atlanta growing up, and it stuck with me. I even got to run the bases on the very last game at Cinergy Field in Cincinnati, and now I get to see kids do the same at our ballpark every Friday home game! Some of my greatest memories are of attending sporting events from my childhood, all the way up to attending the World Series in 2015. But it all started when I was young, playing t-ball for the Mets at my local church in Kentucky, and then grew from there. I was a 4 sport athlete through high school (basketball, soccer, cross country, softball) and a 2 sport athlete in college (softball & cross country), and now I still play recreation league softball. Some of my biggest influences in my life are some amazing female athletes from across all different sports, and I am proud to be working in baseball, now in year 8 as the Assistant General Manager for the Spring Training facility and the St. Lucie Mets! I want to make sure to be a positive light in the sports industry for all women, and to help create memories for other kids who come out to our ballpark. — Kasey Blair
