Mets Women’s History Month Employee Profile: Week 4

It’s not just the players and coaches that have dreamed of making it to the big leagues. Many of our front office staff shared the same dream and contributes to the team’s overall success.

In honor of Women’s History Month, each week, we will take a closer look at the career paths of Mets employees as they achieved their goal of working in professional sports.

Ally Futterman — Corporate Partnership Activation Manager

This photo is not from my Little League days but definitely an integral part of my childhood — one of my first days at Shea Stadium. This photo means a lot to me because little did I know, it was foreshadowing a career with the Mets. Three year old Ally didn’t know that was even possible. This photo was taken by my Dad, who was always so encouraging of my athletic abilities from tee-ball to travel ice hockey to being a college athlete. Upon reflection, I feel so lucky to have been supported by my family in my athletic ventures. — Ally Futterman

Alex Conte — Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships

This is a photo of me playing recreation soccer while growing up in upstate New York. I have always been a lifelong sports fan and athlete; it has been a dream come true to make it a part of my career. Throughout the years I have created unforgettable memories and friends on and off the field that have impacted my life for the better. Now I am the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships and I have the privilege of working at the intersection of sports and business. Each and every day I am excited to work on new projects and partnerships in a field that I love. -Alex Conte

Allie Weiller — Manager Corporate Partnerships

This image is of me playing co-ed recreational soccer in 1999. Neither of my parents had played much soccer before, but they were passionate about sports so they made it a point to take me to all my games. While I learned to kick the ball around so did they — even finding some time to coach my teams occasionally. I was encouraged to play many sports growing up, but I fell in love with soccer and was fortunate enough to play through college. In the end, my athletic career may have finished with college, but my passion for sports never ceased and I was able to leverage my dreams into a career in sports. Now I am a manager on the Corporate Partnerships team with the New York Mets and get to contribute to the success of the team every day. I may have substituted the field for conference rooms, but I feel honored that I can continue to wake up each day to follow my heart.” — Allie Weiller

Sydney Teske — Digital Marketing

Baseball has always been a family affair. Some of my earliest memories involve late nights and early mornings at the ballpark, either watching my brother play while my dad coached or playing on my own tee ball team. At only five years old I was known as the “field ambassador”, as I led people around the fields, brought them snacks from the snack bar, and pretended I was Little League president, just like my mom. This is a photo of my mom and I during my tee ball years, during one of the many seasons she coached me. Usually I was the only (or one of two) girls on the team, but because of very supportive parents that never stopped me from doing what I loved. The day I got the call from the Mets was truly one of the happiest days of my life, and being part of the marketing team allows me to share my lifelong love of the game to others every single day. — Sydney Teske

Taryn Donovan — Senior Director of Venue Services

This is a photo of me at a year old holding a bat and ball so to say I’ve loved sports my whole life couldn’t be more true! I played softball growing up but from a young age started telling my parents I wanted to be a sports agent. I’m fortunate that I have parents who didn’t meet my big dreams with doubt but always told me, my brother + sister that we could be anything we wanted to be as long as we worked hard and didn’t give up. I didn’t end up a sports agent (yet!) but landed a dream internship with the Mets in 2009 and have called Citi Field my home for the last 12 years. I still have to pinch myself at times that I get to go to work everyday at a big league ballpark and am so lucky to hold the title of Senior Director of Venue Services for the New York Mets. I want all the little girls out there with big dreams to know there is a place for all of us in sports — whether that be on or off the field. Keep working hard, make as many connections as you can — and don’t give up! — Taryn Donovan
