Mookie Wilson will bring his cooking exploits to Cooperstown this Memorial Day weekend.

His booming business, Legacy Catering, will be on hand to cook for the stars of the first annual Hall of Fame East-West Classic, a tribute to Negro League history.

Legacy is run by the entire Wilson family and already has 15 dates booked for this season.

“We are so excited to be a part of something so special,” Mookie, who will also be an honorary team member of the Classic, said. “We are honoring all of those who went before us and made it possible for someone like me to have a major league career.”

Mookie plans on preparing dishes like ribs, mac and cheese, chicken and all sorts of cakes.

CC Sabathia, Chris Young, Curtis Granderson, LaTroy Hawkins, Howie Kendrick, Prince Fielder and Scott and Jerry Hairston are some of the players who are expected to participate in the game, which will be played on May 25.

“For me, this is all about getting out there and meeting some great people,” Mookie added. “It’s great that the Hall has put together something like this and my family and I are thrilled to be able to make a small contribution.”
