Moving Offices

I’m not always a big proponent of change, but this move couldn’t make me happier. Today, I moved into a new office at Citi Field, an office that was occupied for so long by my friend and co-worker, Shannon Forde, who was part of our public relations department for 22 years.

Shannon was a star, it’s as simple as that. She was beloved by everyone she came in contact with: players, staff, media and front office. She always had a smile on her face and never said no to any request.

I can remember sitting in her office each morning, planning how we would attack the day going forward. I can’t tell you how much I relied on her expertise and knowledge. She was my rock.

Over eight years have gone now since she passed away from cancer. What better way for me to help keep her legacy alive than by working where she used to sit. Lots of people have moved on since Shannon died but those of us who are still here and were her friends will never forgot her. I know I won’t.
