I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know about my friend Tom Seaver until I read Bill Madden’s new book Tom Seaver, a Terrific Life.

Bill goes beyond the field and he takes you into Tom’s close relationship with his father Charlie, his brother Charles and his devotion to his wife Nancy and daughters Annie and Sarah.

The book talks about his life-long bond to childhood friends from Fresno and the dedication and passion for making wine. Tom was one of the most loyal people I have ever met and that comes through on each of the pages of Bill’s work. A must read for all Mets fans and baseball fans alike.
