Straw Helping Out HoJo

Today I could not be more proud to have been the PR person for the 1986 Mets.

It has nothing to do with wins either. It has to do with one teammate wanting to be there for another teammate in his time of need. When Strawberry became aware of the horrific accident that befell HoJo’s two-year old grandson Tanner, he hopped on a plane and flew to Nashville to lend his support.

“It just shows you what kind of person Darryl is,” Howard told me. “It’s just awesome that he wanted to be he here with us.”

Young Tanner is actually home for a few days to be with his family but multiple surgeries are unfortunately still in his future.
